Ham and Cheese Roll-up Biscuits with Cheese Sauce Recipe

These ham and cheese roll-up biscuits make a perfect dinner for the entire family! Topped with hot homemade cheese sauce, this delicious recipe will make your mouth water and your tummy full!

This recipe is one of our favorites! It’s made from scratch, and just thinking about it makes my mouth water.


- all-purpose flour - baking powder - sugar - cream of tartar - shortening - shredded cheese

Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt.

Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 1

Make a well in the center and add the milk all at once.

Stir just till dough clings together.

Step 2

Knead gently on a lightly floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes.

Roll or pat to ½ inch thickness. Sprinkle on ham and cheese.

Step 3

Cut with a 2 ½ biscuit cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts.

Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a 450° oven for 10–12 minutes, or till golden.

Step 4

Melt butter on a medium temperature stove. Mix in the flour to create a very thick paste.

Add milk and stir constantly. Continue stirring and as the sauce thickens, add the boulion.
