Remember that these are guidelines for you to use in your daily Come, Follow Me 2/23 devotionals with your children! Please don’t feel as though you have to use every single question, journal entry, or activity. Just make sure you look at the activity in advance so you can gather any materials they may require.

- Abraham and Sarah went to a new land. Abimelech, the king there, saw Sarah and thought she was very pretty. The Lord said if Abraham said she was his wife, they would kill him so Abimelech could then marry her.
- Abraham said that Sarah was his sister (which was also true), so they took Sarah to the palace. The Lord told Abimelech in a dream that Sarah was Abraham’s wife. The Lord gave Abimelech a choice – give her back, or kill Abraham to keep her.
- Abimelech gave Sarah back, and he was very blessed for making the right choice.
- How did the Lord keep Sarah and Abraham safe?
- What do we learn about the Lord’s mercies towards Abimelech?

- We don’t know all the reasons God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice; we do know it was a test of his faith in God.

- The story of Sarah and Hagar is very difficult. Sarah was worried she would never have children, so she let Abraham also marry Hagar so he could have children.
- Hagar’s child was often mean to Isaac as Isaac grew up, so Sarah asked Abraham to send them away to protect Isaac.
- This was a very hard decision for Abraham, but the Lord told him what to do.
- Hagar was very sad and worried, and it may have seemed unfair to her. What do we learn about how the Lord talks to Hagar?
- How can we apply these lessons to our own lives when something seems unfair?
