Family Home Evening for Come Follow Me 1/20 for Kids
Song
An Angel from on High (Hymns #13)
Scripture
Lesson
- It has now been three years since since the First Vision. Joseph felt like he had sinned during that time because he had goofed off and not been serious like he felt a prophet should be. The angel Moroni came in response to his prayer of repentance.
- Read the scripture through four times. Moroni repeated this message four times when he presented it to Joseph Smith.
- Now have each person repeat as many things as they can without looking back at the scripture.
- Why do you think Moroni presented the same message 4 times?
- What are some other ways the Lord teaches us through repetition?
- We may sometimes feel like the Lord can’t use you because of mistakes we’ve made. What do we learn from Joseph Smith’s experience? How can we know our “standing before [God]”?
Activity
Play the telephone game.
Try it again, but repeat the message more than once. Does this help?
Treat
Fruit Kabobs in a repeating pattern

- Does Heavenly Father have a work for us to do? How can we know what it is?

- Living the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Caring for those in need
- Inviting all to receive the gospel
- Uniting families for eternity” (“Simply Beautiful—Beautifully Simple,” Liahona, Nov. 2021, 47).
