Scripture of the Week for Come Follow Me 3/3 for Kids
Work on memorizing this scripture with your children during the week for Come Follow Me 3/3: Doctrine & Covenants 19:16-18
For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent;
But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I;
Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink—

If You Could Hie to Kolob (Hymns #284) verse 2
Scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 19:1–12

- Why was it important for Martin to know this about the Lord? Why should you know about it?
- Why do you think Christ is called the beginning and the end?
Journal Entry
How does knowing the Lord is eternal affect my actions today?
Activity
Tuesday Devotional
Song
I Stand All Amazed (Hymns #193)
Scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 19:15–20
Discussion
- Jesus loves you so much, that He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane to pay for all of your sins.
- Because we sin, we should be punished. That punishment is never living with God again and feeling sad for eternity.
- Jesus was perfect, so He took our punishments for us and felt all of those punishments in the Garden of Gethsemane. Because the price was paid, He can forgive us when we do what He asks.
- What do we learn about the Atonement in these verses?
Journal Entry
How can I show Jesus that I am grateful for Him?
Activity
Put together this puzzle about the Atonement.
Wednesday Devotional
Song
Thy Will, O Lord, Be Done (Hymns #188)
Scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 19:18–19, 24
Discussion
- Suffering for our sins was very difficult, but Jesus Christ was willing to do it to obey His Father.
- Show a picture of the Garden of Gethsemane. What is happening in this picture?
- Read Luke 22:42. Why wouldn’t Jesus want to do the Atonement? Is it okay to not want to do something that’s hard?
- How did Jesus act? How can we act when we are asked to do something that we don’t want to do?
- Jesus put His Father’s will (or desires) above His own.
Journal Entry
How can I put the Lord’s will first today?
Activity

- Learn of Christ
- Listen to His words
- Walk in His Spirit (meek means to be humble and teachable)
- How can we do each of these things?
- What blessing do we get?

Friday Devotional
Song
Hosanna (Children’s #66)
Scripture
Doctrine and Covenants 19:26–27, 34–41
Discussion
- When the Book of Mormon was finished being translated, there wasn’t enough money to pay to have it printed.
- Martin Harris mortgaged his farm to pay to print it. He wasn’t able to get the money back, so he ended up losing a lot of his land to pay the bank back.
- What does the Lord tell Martin in these verses?
- What have we had to sacrifice to follow the Lord? How can we make these sacrifices with rejoicing and gladness?
Journal Entry
What can I do to be glad to follow Christ?
