Bridal Shower Lavender and Lemon

A few years ago, I was sitting in church and looked up at the girl who was playing the piano for the hymn we were seeing as a congregation. I had known her family for several years by that point, and this young lady had been in my home several times, even babysitting my children.

The night prior, my brother had called me sometime in the middle of the night to tell me, once again, about a very frustrating date that he had been on. “I feel like all girls act one way at church and another way during the week,” he said. “I quit. I am done dating.”

As I watched this girl’s facial expressions as she played – including when she made mistakes – I had the thought, “Now this is a girl with integrity. She is always herself, in public and in private.”

I decided to text my brother and ask this girl if they would like to be friends. About five years later, she became my sister-in-law.

After my brother proposed, I helped this girl’s mother (who had become a good friend of mine) throw her bridal shower. Her theme was unique: she wanted purple and yellow – lemons and lavender.

I couldn’t really find any lavender and lemons decorations or games that weren’t really expensive, so I decided to make my own on Canva and print them out.
