Scripture

Hebrews 7:1–6

Discussion

  • Do you remember who Melchizedek was? We learned about him last year in the Old Testament.
  • These verses talk about him.
  • There are two types of priesthood. The Aaronic (or Levitical) priesthood was what was given to the Isrealites when they weren’t ready for the full priesthood of God in Moses’s time.
  • Christ brought the higher or Melchizedek Priesthood and gave it to His apostles.
  • Looking at these pictures, which ones are for Aaronic and which are for Melchizedek? (See pictures 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, and 108 in the Gospel Art Book)
  • How does Heavenly Father bless us through these priesthood ordinances?

  • We all sin and aren’t perfect. That means we can’t live with God. But Jesus paid the punishment for our sins, so we can repent.
