Ham and Cheese Roll-up Biscuits Topped with Cheese Sauce

Hey y’all, Tiffany here with an amazing dinner recipe! I ate this all the time growing up, and it’s still one of my favorite dinners whenever I go to visit my parents. It’s actually a perfect leftover ham recipe, like when you make Orange Glazed Ham.

Ham & Cheese Roll-up Biscuits
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp cream of tartar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup shortening
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1/2 cup parslley flakes
- 2 eggs
Stir together flour, baking powder, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt. Next, cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs
Make a well in the center and add the milk all at once. Then stir just till dough clings together.
Knead gently on a lightly floured surface for 10 to 12 strokes. Roll or pat to ½ inch thickness.
In bowl, mix ham, cheese, parsley, and eggs. Spread mixture evenly over dough.
Cut with a 2 ½ biscuit cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts.
Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in 450* oven for 10-12 minutes or till golden. Serve warm. Makes 10-12 biscuits.
Cheese sauce
When your biscuits have about 15 minutes left in the oven, start making the cheese sauce.
When the biscuits come of out the oven, serve with a ladle of cheese sauce on top.

- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 tbsp chicken boulian or flavor base
- grated cheese

- Roll or pat to ½ inch thickness.
- In bowl, mix ham, cheese, parsley, and eggs. Spread mixture evenly over dough.
- Cut with a 2 ½ biscuit cutter, dipping cutter in flour between cuts.

Cheese Sauce
- Melt butter on medium temperature stove.
- Mix in the flour to create a very thick paste.
- Add milk and stir constantly (do not walk away at all or it will burn on the bottom).
- Continue stirring and as the sauce thickens, add the boulion.
- Keep stirring until all lumps are out and sauce begins to boil.
- Continue stirring constantly while sauce boils for at least 1-2 minutes (be careful of splashes).
- Then add as much grated cheese as desired.
- Serve biscuits with a ladle of cheese sauce on top.
