Work on memorizing this scripture with your children during the week for Come Follow Me 1/25: Matthew 4:19–20

Devotionals for Come Follow Me 1/25 for Kids
Remember that these are guidelines for you to use in your daily Come, Follow Me 1/25 devotionals with your children! Please don’t feel as though you have to use every single question, journal entry, or activity. Just make sure you look at the activity in advance so you can gather any materials they may require.
Here is a general outline for each devotional for Come Follow Me 1/25:
- Start by singing the song together and saying a prayer.
- Read the scripture together, then your family can have a discussion using the questions/comments provided.
- Copy the journal entries into a spiral notebook. The child or the parent can write the question at the top, after which the child can write or draw an answer.
- Have fun together doing the activity as a family!

Sunday Ideas for Kids for Come Follow Me 1/25
Use Sundays for a time of reflection; share what you discussed that day in each of your classes. Did you learn anything new or hear a different perspective about what you studied this week?
If you went to a class that did not use the Come, Follow Me 1/25 Manual, then share what stood out to you the most in your class.
Take a few minutes to talk about what parts of Sacrament Meeting you felt like were meant for you.

- Play a “What if” game. Write on pieces of paper “What if” questions that describe temptations and ask children to come up with solutions.
- What if you find something that belongs to someone else?
- What if you promise your father you will help him, but a friend comes by and asks you to play?
- What if your friends make fun of you for not smoking some cigarettes they found (or drinking alcohol or taking drugs)?
- What if you know you will get in trouble if you tell the truth?
- Jesus is Tempted cut and paste
- Prepare some “Temptation Cards.” On 3″ by 5″ cards or pieces of paper write temptations that the children might have, such as lying, cheating, stealing, using vulgar language, and so on. On other cards, “Help Cards,” write Faith in Jesus Christ, Parents, Teachers, Good friends, Prayer, Fasting, Church leaders, Scriptures, the Holy Ghost, Avoiding temptations, and other things that help people resist temptation. Place the Temptation Cards face down in one pile and the Help Cards face down in another pile. Have a child choose a Help and a Temptation Card and share what is written on each. Discuss as a family how the Help Card can make it easier to resist the Temptation Card.
- Make beautifully decorated cookies with salt instead of sugar. Be sure to give each child a napkin (to spit the bite of cookie out into) and let them choose a cookie. Explain that Satan makes sin look appealing and he even makes bad things seem good. They look appealing on the outside, but if we partake then we may consume something into our lives that would be bad and harmful. Ask the children if they can think of anything that looks appealing but is actually harmful to our souls. Inappropriate movies, violent video games, fighting, arguing,
