Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Monday Devotional
Song
Anytime, Anywhere (Hymns—For Home and Church #1012)
Scripture
Discussion
**Note: do your preparation for Friday’s activity today**
- Outline the four parts of prayer:
- Address Heavenly Father
- Thank Him for blessings
- Ask Him for needs
- Close in the name of Jesus Christ
- Explain that prayer can be a conversation. Just like we’re ask our family members what they did that day, prayer is a way of telling Heavenly Father about our day.
- Each morning, we tell Him what we will do and ask for His help.
- Each evening, we tell Him how our day was, thank Him for His help, and ask for any forgiveness or blessings needed.

A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief (Hymns #29)
Scripture
Matthew 7:21-23 JST
Discussion
- When we meet someone knew, how do we get to know them better? By doing things together, like playing! We learn about them.
- The phrase “I never knew you” in Matthew 7:23 was changed in the Joseph Smith Translation to “Ye never knew me” (in Matthew 7:23, footnote a).
- How does this change help you better understand what the Lord taught in verses 21–22?
- How well do you feel you know the Lord? What can you do to know Him better?
- I come to know Jesus Christ by doing His will – I follow His example and doing His commandments. It is our choice to get to know Jesus better. We do that by doing what he wants.

Wednesday Devotional
Song
Love One Another (Hymns #308)
Scripture
Matthew 7:1-5 JST
Discussion
- When you go to the grocery store to buy apples or other fruit, do you just grab the closest fruit? No, you look at them to make sure they aren’t rotten or that there are no bruises or damage.
- The “fruits” of a person are the things that come from – how do they act to others? What words do they use?
- We can be fruit inspectors. There will be some people we meet who aren’t good friends to us – maybe they’re mean to us or others. We can’t judge them (and say they won’t go to the Celestial Kingdom), but we can be fruit inspectors and see if they will be good friends by looking at their “fruits”
- Even if they have bad fruits, that doesn’t mean we should be mean to them. That is judging unrighteously. Sometimes when others aren’t nice to us, it is because they are feeling sad. If we just get mad at them, it doesn’t help. Try thinking about how others are feeling.
