Scripture of the Week for Come Follow Me 1/27 for Kids
Work on memorizing this scripture with your children during the week for Come Follow Me 1/27: D&C 4:1-4
Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;

Stand for the Right (Children’s #159)
Scripture
Discussion
- Joseph Smith began translating the golden plates, and Martin Harris wrote it down for Joseph.
- Martin’s wife was angry and didn’t believe, so Martin asked Joseph if he could take the 116 pages they’d already translated to his wife. The Lord told Joseph no, but they kept asking, so the Lord said yes but not to show them to anyone else.
- Martin didn’t obey; he showed them to his wife, but also many other people because she convinced him to. Those other people later stole the 116 pages.
- Section 3 of D&C is the Lord’s revelation to Joseph and Martin.
- What does the Lord tell Martin and Joseph in verses 1-4?
- The Lord knew when Nephi was writing the plates that this would happen, so he made sure that Nephi wrote the information that was in the beginning to also be in the Book of Nephi.
