Hey everyone, it’s me, Sara, and I have delicious recipe for cajun pasta to share with all of you! The cajun seasoning itself is homemade, which makes it the perfect meal for the family.

You can make this cajun pasta recipe with either chicken or shrimp – whichever protein you prefer (or happen to have in the freezer if it’s a last-minute recipe). You might also like these frozen shrimp recipes.

One thing our family likes to do is leave out seasoning until the very end. That way, people can add more to their own portion if they want. This recipe is the perfect spiciness level for me, but my husband prefers to add a lot more (and our one-year-old daughter needs quite a bit less).

Cajun Pasta Recipe with Chicken or Shrimp

To make cajun pasta, you’ll need these ingredients:

Cut the chicken breasts into 6 halves (unless you purchased them that way), then slice them into thin stips (or de-vein and de-tail the shrimp).

Place chicken (or shrimp) and Cajun seasoning in a bowl and toss to coat.

Begin cooking linguine according to directions for al dente.

As the linguine is cooking, in a large skillet over medium heat, saute chicken/shrimp in butter or margarine until chicken is tender (or shrimp is opaque), about 5 to 7 minutes.

Reduce heat. Add green onion, heavy cream, tomatoes, basil, salt, garlic powder, black pepper and heat through.

Pour over hot linguine and toss with Parmesan cheese.

Add extra Cajun seasoning to individual portions as desired.

Enjoy!
