There is a law, irrevocably decreed in heaven before the foundations of this world, upon which all blessings are predicated—

And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is by obedience to that law upon which it is predicated.

Devotionals for Come Follow Me 11/10 for Kids

Remember that these are guidelines for you to use in your daily Come, Follow Me 11/10 devotionals with your children!  Please don’t feel as though you have to use every single question, journal entry, or activity.  Just make sure you look at the activity in advance so you can gather any materials they may require.

Here is a general outline for each devotional for Come Follow Me 11/10:

  • Start by singing the song together and saying a prayer
  • Read the scripture together, then your family can have a discussion using the questions/comments provided.
  • Copy the journal entries into a spiral notebook.  The child or the parent can write the question at the top, after which the child can write or draw an answer.
  • Have fun together doing the activity as a family!

Discussion

  • These verses tell us more about eternal marriages. What do we learn from them?
  • How do these verses affect how you view your relationships with your family?
  • Sometimes families aren’t able to sealed in this lifetime. This does not mean you won’t have an eternal family. President Eyring said, “You just live worthy of the celestial kingdom, and the family arrangements will be more wonderful than you can imagine.”

Discussion

  • In the Old Testament, many of the prophets like Abraham, Jacob, and Moses had more than one wife. This is called polygamy.
  • Joseph Smith was confused by this, so he prayed to Heavenly Father. What do these verses tell us about polygamy?
  • This revelation about polygamy was very difficult and hard for Joseph and his wife, Emma. What can we learn about their example in doing the Lord’s will even when we don’t want to?
  • We do not practice polygamy today; marriage is between one man and one woman.
