Pi Day Crafts and Activities for Kids
Check out this fun list of educational Pi Day ideas, crafts, and activities for kids you can do this year on March 14th, which is Pi Day!
Hey y’all, Tiffany here with some fun Pi Day ideas for kids!
As you probably know by now, I used to be a middle school math teacher. I love it when I can find ways for kids to bring math into their every day lives, like with fun math apps or couponing.
One of my favorite days of the year is Pi Day. Pi is a Greek letter of the alphabet, and it is used as a symbol in math for the ratio between the diameter of a circle and its circumference.
Basically, if you measure the circumference of a circle (the distance around, basically the perimeter) and divide it by its diameter (the length across), you will always get Pi!
Pi is about 3.14. So Pi Day is celebrated every year on March 14th (3/14, get it?). Not only is it fun to eat pies (which are round, like a circle, and Pi is all about circles), but you can bring in some education while you’re at it!
So I’ve come up with this list of fun Pi Day ideas that you can do with your kids to make this day even more fun!
And if you’re a bit of a math nerd like me, you’ll love these fun Pi Day items on Amazon!
